Western Trails
Western Trails is a historical western romance series by Heidi Vanlandingham, set in the nineteenth-century American frontier. The books begin in Georgia and follow the Cherokee Trail of Tears into Texas and Indian Territory, in what is now Oklahoma. Each one is a stand-alone love story for two people, most of Native heritage, shaped by loss and displacement: a debutante and a Choctaw lighthorseman, a wagon train survivor and a retired cavalry officer, a ranch owner's daughter and an ex-soldier, a teacher and a preacher raising children together. Trail of Injustice is the prequel novella.
